New Moon Movie Review
I saw New Moon with my daughter and my niece and her boyfriend at the premier midnight viewing in our area 00:01 Friday. I write the time this way because I actually thought our pre-purchased tickets from Fandango were for 00:01 Thursday but I was wrong which totally messed up my schedule for two days, but I digress.
I go to the Twilight movies for my daughter. She loves the series and she loved this movie and the previous one. My niece loved the movie, also, as did all of the other fans in the audience.
One of the highlights for me was when my nieces by friend gave a girlish scream out of sync with the rest of the audience. I nearly hurt myself with stomach cramps from laughing.
So, what did I think?
I was bored. The lead actress is so vapid, I could sleep as often as she does in the movie. I also dislike her character both in the book and in the movie. I find the way she treats the other characters reprehensible, especially Jacob and I find her very self-centered and selfish, not sympathetic.
To be honest, I am tired of “sexy, good at heart” vampires. But this is a teen series of books and movies, so I can see the appeal.
The good stuff?
Some of the minor characters in the movie are funny. The construction and special effects of the wolves is excellent. They look and act very real, unlike the werewolf in the Harry Potter movie. The young fit bodies went a long way to keeping me watching.

Vapid? I don’t know what that word means, but a lot of people call me that.
I don’t find Bella a very sympathetic character either, but I’m thinking of going to see New Moon for the werewolves. The shorts I’ve seen of the wolves looks incredible.
Frankly, good special effects are enough to have me going to the theater. My dh and I thought we’d catch it around New Years Eve. Think it’ll be in the theater that long?
Hot??? Really? I didn’t notice that. *grin*
Good review. I think I’ll give it a miss. Mall Diva is not a fan.
Besides, I already had to go to “I Can Do Bad All by Myself” because Mall Diva IS a fan of Adam Rodriguez.
I was surprised at how true to the book New Moon turned out to be, awkward moments especially
